Oxalis bowiei

ζ*O. bowiei Lindley

ζ*O. bowiei Lindley ζ* was collected in 1964 from waste land, Amberley, N. Canterbury. Petioles, leaflet margins, peduncles, pedicels and calyx margins densely clothed in glandular hairs; leaflets broadly obcordate; scape 7-9-flowered; calyx 7-8 mm long, lacking calli; petals 2.5-3 cm long, deep pink; styles < stamen whorls, slender. Allan (1940) recorded this sp., but probably in error for O. latifolia [ see, Healy, A. J., Trans. Roy. Soc. N.Z. 85: 543 (1958)]. (South Africa, 1968).
