Camelina sativa

ζ*C. sativa (L.) Crantz

ζ*C. sativa (L.) Crantz ζ*, gold of pleasure, has been collected twice as a casual in fields near Whangarei and near Oamaru, but has not been recorded for at least 50 years. It is similar to C. alyssum but with usually shorter pedicels, 1-1.5-(2) cm long, and narrower silicles not truncate at the apex. The sp. has also been recorded in N.Z. as Myagrum sativum. (C. and S.E. Europe, 1883).
