Planchonella Pierre

PLANCHONELLA Pierre, 1890

Calyx-lobes (4)-5; petals, stamens and staminodes (4)-5; seed with long, narrow, ventral scar. Genus of ∞ spp. of eastern Asia, Malaysia and Pacific Ocean Is. The N.Z sp. possibly endemic, but very closely related to P. costata of Norfolk Id and P. vitiensis of Fiji.
