Greenovia aurea
ζ*Greenovia aurea (C. A. Smith) Webb et Berth. ζ* has been collected on a rock outcrop on the Port Hills, Christchurch, where it had spread slightly from cultivation. Like other Greenovia spp. it has almost acaulous, herbaceous rosettes of broadly spathulate lvs almost indistinguishable from those of some Aeonium spp. (Plate 11). G. aurea has cymes with several main branches, borne on leafy flowering stems c. 30 cm high; fls secund, c. 30-merous, with narrow golden petals; scales 0; carpels immersed 1/2 way in receptacular disc. (Canary Is, 1988).
