Carmichaelia odorata var. pilosa (Benth.) Kirk
C. pilosa Col. ex Hook. f. Fl. N.Z. 1, 1852, 50.
Indumentum of branchlets, lvs, racemes and calyx more pronounced. Ovary and immature pods pilose.
Simpson (loc. cit. 245) gives a long description, but I do not find the differences given quite constant. The var. has the range of the sp., and the ∞ "intermediate" forms found are probably of hybrid origin. In the type cover at K is one sheet with 3 pieces: "1971 C. pilosa n. sp. W. C." The immature pods are clad in appressed hairs, the branchlets now practically glab.
