Cladonia capitellata var. squamatica A.W.Archer

C. capitellata var. squamatica A.W.Archer, Proc. Linn. Soc. New South Wales 108: 193 (1986).

Description : As for C. capitellata and C. capitellata var. interhiascens, but distinguished from them by the presence of squamatic acid.

Chemistry : Pd−; thamnolic acid absent, squamatic acid present.

N: S: A: On peaty soil, still very poorly known. Also in Australia (Archer 1986a, 1992b; McCarthy 2003c, 2006).

Cladonia capitellata var. squamatica is characterised by: the presence of squamatic acid.
