Carmichaelia kirkii var. strigosa G.Simpson

Type locality: Banks of Poulter River, near Mount White bridge. Type: BD 45771A (G. S. 112), G. Simpson. Specimens from Rakaia Gorge and Lake Pukaki, placed here by Simpson, have less appressed, often less dense, hairs.

Branchlets shorter, rather stouter, densely clad in white strigose hairs; calyx-teeth broader, blunt.
