Arthonia glaucomaria
≡*Lecidea glaucomaria Nyl., Bot Notiser 1852: 177 (1852).
Description : Lichenicolous causing blackening of host tissue. Apothecia black, rounded-applanate, immarginate, developing in hymenium of host. Hymenium colourless I+ blue, 45–60 μm tall; epithecium brown to olive-brown. Hypothecium colourless. Ascospores colourless, ovoid to oblong-ellipsoidal, 3-septate (11–)14–18 × (5–)6–7 μm.
S: Known also from alpine areas of Great Britain, Europe, Scandinavia, Greenland and North America (Hertel 1969b; Leuckert & Poelt 1989; Alstrup & Hawksworth 1990; Hafellner & Sancho 1990; Triebel et al. 1991; Coppins 1992a; Nimis 1993; Santesson 1993; Alstrup & Elvebakk 1996; Scholz 2000; Triebel & Scholz 2001; Nimis & Martellos 2003; Santesson et al. 2004).
Cosmopolitan
Hosts : Apothecial discs of Lecanora bicincta and L. rupicola, being most common on the latter.

* Arthonia glaucomaria is characterised by: the lichenicolous habit (hosts Lecanora bicincta, L. rupicola); and 3-septate ascospores, 11–18 × 5–7 μm.
