Arthonia indisticta

Lectotype: New Zealand. Sine loco [probably Auckland] 1858, Charles Knight – BM [fide Galloway (1985a: 12)]. Isolectotypes – BM, WELT (Herb. Knight Vol. 62, p. 4).

Description : Flora (1985: 12).

N: ?Auckland, Known only from the type collection.

Arthonia indistincta is characterised by: the corticolous habit; yellowish brown, olivaceous to grey-black, areolate thallus; numerous, minute, subpunctiform to elongate-oblong, simple or branched apothecia, to 2 mm long, and arranged in parallel lines; and oblong, 3-septate ascospores constricted centrally, 22–28 × 8–10 μm.
