Collema quadriloculare var. tasmaniae

Description : Flora (1985: 142).

S: Southland (Known only from a single collection from near the east side of the Homer Tunnel). From open rocks at roadside at 900 m (G. Degelius – UPS). Known also from Tasmania (Degelius 1974; Filson 1992c, 1996; McCarthy 2003c, 2006).

Collema quadriloculare var. tasmaniae is characterised by: the saxicolous habit; the very dark, foliose thallus; the very dark apothecia; and the characteristic ascospores, 4–7(–9)-celled, linear-oblong, (30–)35–55(–60) × 4.5–6.5(–8.5) μm.
