Cosmos sulphureus
ζ*C. sulphureus Cav. ζ*, yellow cosmos, is known from 2 collections only: a casual in a garden, Auckland City, 1985, and as a garden escape established on roadsides at Tahunanui, near Nelson, 1959. Erect annual; lvs 1-pinnate and again 1-2-pinnatisect; segments subulate to ovate; ligules bright orange-yellow; achenes long-attenuate, with 0-2 retrorsely barbed awns. (Mexico, C. and northern S. America, 1984).
