Lamina 12-30 × 10-20 mm., obovate-oblong to oblong to elliptic. Berry ovoid to subglobular, 3-4 mm. diam.

REMARKS

Further detailed study of the ♂, especially those of M. lanceolatus and M. micranthus, and comparison with those of Hymenanthera is needed. A series of forms connects the two vars of M. micranthus by way of the type form. These "intermediates" are in part at least due to hybridism. Allan (Genetica 9, 1927, 505) illustrated lvs of hybrids between M. lanceolatus and M. ramiflorus.
