ζ*Wigandia caracasana Kunth ζ* has been collected wild as a cultivation escape on rocky slopes below cliff-top gardens on Waiheke Id near Auckland. A large shrub with stout shoots; lvs very large, simple, dentate; fls numerous in dense scorpioid cymes; corolla 2.5-3.5 cm diam., limb > tube, purple; stamens exserted and purple; styles 2. (Mexico to Colombia and Venezuela, 1988).
