ζ*Romneya coulteri Harvey ζ* is persistent and spreading in cultivation. It has been collected once, spreading by rhizomes out of a garden and breaking up a nearby footpath in Christchurch. Rhizomatous perennial; lvs pinnatifid, glaucous; fls white, 9-12 cm diam.; sepals 3, leathery, bristly; petals 6, crumpled in bud; capsule ovoid, covered in rigid golden bristles. (S.W. California, 1988).
