Teucridium

ζTeucridium Hook. f.

ζTeucridium Hook. f. ζ is a monotypic indigenous genus which may occur in modified communities and is sometimes mistaken for a naturalised member of the Lamiaceae. However, it is easily recognised by its semi-woody, 4-angled branches, entire, petiolate, non-aromatic lvs, fls 1-few in axillary cymes, 5-lobed corolla with 2-lipped limb, and the fr. of 4 hispid nutlets. Moldenke, H. N., Phytologia 48: 448 (1981), reduced var. luxurians Cheeseman to the rank of forma.
