Cephaloziella densifolia var. dubia R.M.Schust., Nova Hedwigia 22: 202. f. 24: 1–9. 1972 (1971). 

Holotype: New Zealand, North Is., E side of Coromandel Ra., along road from Whitianga to Coromandel, ca. 1000 ft., Schuster 67-1700a.

Plants with branching rare; leaves with lobes (5)6–9 cells broad, the cells of leaves smooth.

Distribution and Ecology : Endemic to New Zealand: North Island (305 m). Known only from the type, on friable sandstone walls admixed with Jackiella curvata.
