Parsonsia capsularis (G.Forst.) DC. var. capsularis
Forster's description is: "foliis lanceolatis integerrimis oppositis: cymis axillaribus diffusis." In K is a Forster specimen "Presented by the Corporation of Liverpool, August 1886". There is one flowering piece; fls with pilose pedicels, corolla pilose without, anthers exserted. Lvs on slender petioles ± 2 mm. long; lamina (4)-6-7 × 1·5-2 cm., lanceolate- to elliptic-oblong, entire or slightly sinuate.
Raoul (Choix 1846, 17) examined the type specimen in P, and gave the diagnosis: "P. ramulis subincanis; foliis oblongis v. lanceolato-oblongis, obtusis, basi rotundatis v. in petiolum brevem attenuatis; floribus albis; laciniis calycis lanceolatis, acutis, corollae tubum superantibus; corolla tubo brevissimo, laciniis lanceolatis, acutiusculis; staminibus exsertis, antherarum appendiculis brevibus." He remarks: "Dans la plante de Forster conservèe au Museum les corolles sont de moitiè plus petites que dans notre P. rosea, presque rotacèes et les divisions du calice plus longue que la tube."
Plants of similar If-form and with equally small fls (± 3 mm. long) occur locally from lat. 35º to 42º.
