Potentilla crantzii

ζ*P. crantzii (Crantz) Fritsch

ζ*P. crantzii (Crantz) Fritsch ζ* is known from one collection from Hawke's Bay (CHR 19125, Tutira, Guthrie-Smith, 8.12.1937). An ascending perennial, sparsely to moderately clothed in long simple hairs and sparsely glandular; basal lvs palmately (3)-5-foliolate; cauline lvs mostly 3-foliolate, reduced upwards and soon apetiolate; leaflets obovate, c. 5-15 mm long, with 2-4 pairs of teeth; infl. few-flowered, cymose, up to c. 20 cm tall; fls 5-merous; styles filiform; achenes not winged. This sp. has been previously recorded in N.Z. as P.norvegica. (Europe to C. Asia, 1940).
