Porina cerina

Description : Flora (1985: 413–414).

N: Wellington (Kitchener Park Feilding, Manawatu Gorge, Totara Reserve Pohangina Valley, Colonial Knob Wellington). On leaves of ferns, podocarps and Metrosideros tomentosa (Santesson 1952: 249). Known also from the Phillipines, Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu (Santesson 1952; McCarthy 2003d).

Porina cerina is characterised by: the foliicolous habit; the greatly reduced outer perithecial wall; the characteristic yellowish green colour of the perithecia; and 3-septate ascospores, 16–22 × 3–4.5 μm.
