Collema subfragrans

C. subfragrans Degel., Symb. Bot. Upsal. 20 (2): 86 (1974).

Holotype: New Zealand. Otago, Merton, common on exposed trees (together with C. kauaiense), 300 m, ix.1959, J. Murray 4648 – OTA.

Description : Flora (1985: 143–144).

S: Otago (Merton, Taieri Mouth) on coastal Melicytus ramiflorus and Coprosma, apparently rare and local. Known also from East Africa (Degelius 1974; Swinscow & Krog 1988).

Palaeotropical

Collema subfragrans is characterised by: the corticolous habit; the structure of the proper exciple, and the small, 4-celled ascospores, (13–)15–17 × 4.5–5(–6) μm.
