Coffea arabica

ζ*Coffea arabica L.

ζ*Coffea arabica L. ζ*, Arabian coffee, is known from one collection, Raoul Id (Kermadecs), 1944, presumably from a wild plant. The sp. is naturalised on other Pacific islands such as Norfolk Id. A glabrous small tree or large shrub; petiole c. 1 cm long, dark purple; lamina 8-17 × 3.5-7 cm; calyx lobes minute; corolla white, salverform; drupe c. 1.5 cm long, usually ellipsoid, shining, deep crimson. (Ethiopia, 1981).
