Branching exclusively intercalary, usually all ventral. Gemmae ellipsoidal or citron-shaped. Autoecious (normally), with ♂ and ♀ normally juxtaposed, the gynoecia on short intercalary branches from leading shoots and adjacent androecia on leading leafy axes, or gynoecia terminal on leafy axes, with adjacent spicate ♂ branches.
