Carex decurtata Cheeseman

C. decurtata Cheesem. T.N.Z.I. 24, 1892, 414.

Small, stiff, bright green or yellow-green tufts to 9 cm high. Leaves much > stems, rigid, concavo-convex. Inflorescence a dense head to 1 cm long, of 3-5 light brown spikes. Utricles faintly nerved. Stigmas 3.

S. Canterbury - scattered south of Waimakariri River, more common in Mackenzie Country; Otago - Earnscleugh. On gravelly river terraces, lake margins or boggy ground; montane to subalpine.
