Phrygilanthus tenuiflorus

Hooker's description reads: "foliis petiolatis oppositis obovatis obtusis, floribus paniculatis pedicellatis, calyce pubescente, corolla lineari-elongata, petalis 4 apice liberis, antheris late oblongis, stylo gracili, stigmate simplici. HAB. Northern Island, Colenso? Of this I have but one small specimen, of which the ticket has been lost . . . Ovary smooth or pubescent; calyx-limb cup-shaped. Leaves obovate, 11/2 inch long, on rather slender petioles; stem rounded, branches compressed."

The single specimen is a branch with 5 lvs and some frs. In a packet is a single fl.; anthers subbasifixed, tepals united below. Lvs ± 2.5 × 1·25 cm., on petioles ± 5 mm. long, oblong to broad-obcordate, obtuse.
