Phrygilanthus Eichler

PHRYGILANTHUS Eichl., 1868

Fls us. in cymose trichotomous panicles; receptacle with obscurely toothed rim. Tepals 4-6, free or connivent. Stamens 5-6, filaments filiform, anthers versatile, pollen 3-lobed; style long, filiform; ovary 1-celled, adnate to receptacle. Fr. ± globose. Genus of some 20 spp. of South America and Australia; doubtfully present in N.Z., no sp. has been seen by later botanists.
