Euphorbia mauritanica
ζ*E. mauritanica L. ζ* is known from one collection only, a garden escape collected from the base of a cliff, Whakatane. A succulent, much-branched, glabrous shrub up to c. 1 m high; stems lvs present only on young growth, alternate; glands elliptic to suborbicular, entire; capsule finely rugulose; seeds smooth, rounded, dark brown, c. 3 mm long. Several other succulent, leafless spurges from southern Africa are cultivated in N.Z. but have not been reported wild. (S. and S.W. Africa, 1981).
