Var. ambiguus

Var. ambiguus (Cheesem.) Allan comb. nov. 

S. rotundifolius var. ambiguus Cheesem. Man. N.Z. Fl. 1925, 1026.

Type locality: Cape Foulwind. Type: A, W. Townson.

Shrub up to 3 m. tall; lvs broadly obovate to elliptic-oblong, less coriac.

DIST.: S. Coastal scrub from Cape Foulwind to Barrytown.
