Micrargeria filiformis
ζ*Micrargeria filiformis (Schum et Thonn.) Hutch. et Dalziel ζ* has been collected only once, in Leptospermum scrub at Te Aroha, Thames District, in 1932. An erect, scabridulous, annual herb with filiform lvs. Corolla slightly irregular; tube < calyx, lacking a spur; limb campanulate, purplish. Anthers hairy, lightly cohering in 2 unequal pairs. Capsule globose, dehiscing by 2 valves. Micrargeria Benth. belongs to a tropical and subtropical tribe in subfam. Rhinanthoideae which is otherwise unrepresented in N.Z. Thus, the occurrence of M. filiformis here is surprising. (Tropical Africa, Madagascar, 1935).
