Lecidea subsericea

Holotype: New Zealand. Nelson, Lead Hills, on dead twigs of Dacrydium colensoi, J.S. Thomson T 1988 [ZA 664] – W. Isotypes – CHR 347064, OTA 029447.

Description : Flora (1985: 239).

Chemistry : Not tested.

S: Nelson. Subalpine on dead or decorticated wood.

Endemic

Lecidea subsericea is characterised by: the lignicolous habit; the effuse (often lacking) whitish, silky thallus; black, glossy apothecia; an olive-brown epithecium; a brownish hypothecium; and bacillar ascospores, 6.5–10 × 1.5–2.5 (–3.5) μm. As indicated above, this species is not correctly accommodated in Lecidea s. str.
