Lecidea cerinocarpa

Holotype: New Zealand. Sine loco [probably Wellington], 30.iii.1879, Charles Knight – WELT Vol. 48A p. 20.

Description : Flora (1985: 225).

Chemistry : Not tested.

N: Known only from the type collection.

Lecidea cerinocarpa is characterised by: the corticolous habit; the pale olive-grey, areolate to minutely squamulose or verrucose–papillate thallus; pale red-brown, orange-pink to fawn, immarginate apothecia with a waxy, minutely wrinkled–papillate disc; a massive pale yellow-brown to red-brown hypothecium; and ellipsoidal ascospores, 13 × 6 μm. As indicated above, this species is not correctly accommodated in Lecidea s. str.
