Oplismenus hirtellus (L.) P.Beauv. subsp. hirtellus

subsp. hirtellus

Leaf-blade (1.5)-4-10 cm × (2)-4-12 mm, ovate-lanceolate. Panicle (6)-8-17 cm; rachis of racemelets and of spikelet-clusters 5-15-(30) mm. Spikelets 4-12 in lower racemelets and clusters, paired or solitary near apex of rachis. Awn of upper glume 1-1.5-(2) mm.

N.: scattered localities from North Cape to Auckland; K.: Raoul Id, Meyer Islets. Shaded slopes and coastal forest.

Indigenous.

Also indigenous to tropical America and Asia, South Pacific and Australia.
