Rinodina lecanorina (Massal.) Massal.

Mischoblastia lecanorina Massal., Ric. Lich. crost.: 41 (1852).

Thallus pale grey or grey to greyish-brown, areolate, areolae plane or vaulted, without perceptible prothallus, saxicolous. Apothecia cryptole-canorine, innate or subinnate, often contiguous, to 1 mm diam., disc plane to subconvex, dark brown becoming blackish, sometimes grey- white-pruinose. Hymenium 110-150 µm tall. Epihymenium red-brown. Hypothecium colourless. Ascospores of Bicincta -type, 13-17 × 8-11 µm. Chemistry: Zeorin, unidentified triterpenoid.

S: Canterbury (Castle Hill Basin). On limestone.
