Buellia litoralis. Holotype: New Zealand. Otago, Black Head, near Dunedin, on coastal rock. J.S. Thomson (T397) ZA 441, W.

Thallus sordid grey-brown, membranous, rimose or rimose-areolate, prothallus blackish, saxicolous. Apothecia lecideine, sessile, dispersed, to 0.8 mm diam., disc blackish, plane becoming convex. Hymenium 80-100 µm tall. Epihymenium dark brown. Hypothecium brownish. Ascospores of Dubyana -type, 12-16 × 6-8.5 µm, wall warted. Chemistry: -.

S: Otago (Black Head near Dunedin).
