ζLeptinella Cass. ζ is accepted at generic level rather than treated as a subgenus of Cotula [Lloyd, D. G. and Webb, C. J., New Zealand J. Bot. 25 : 99-105 (1987)]. Allan's (1961) treatment of subgenus Leptinella was considerably revised by Lloyd, D. G., New Zealand J. Bot. 10 : 277-372 (1972).
