Eragrostis minor

ξE. minor Host ξPlants slender, tufted, 10-25 cm. Leaf-sheath glandular, sometimes with scattered hairs. Collar hairs to 3 mm. Leaf-blade to 11 cm × 4 mm; margins glandular. Culm with ring of glandular tissue below nodes. Panicle 4-10 cm; branches and pedicels minutely scabrid, sometimes with a few glands, branch-axils glabrous. Spikelets 3-4.5 mm, < 1.5 mm wide, 3-7-flowered, greyish green. Lemma 1.4-1.7 mm, ovate. Stamens 3; anthers 0.2-0.3 mm. Caryopsis 0.6-0.8 × 0.5-0.6 mm, ellipsoid-oblong, truncate. A species of Eurasia and tropical Africa twice collected in North Id: one 19th Century collection from ballast at Wellington T. Kirk (WELT 70583, WELT 77636), and again at Rotorua R. Murray 1965 (CHR 156758).
