Indigofera heterantha
ζ*Indigofera heterantha Brandis ζ* was collected by Kirk, naturalised in the vicinity of Auckland (CHR 3458, Parnell, near Auckland, Kirk) and recorded by him as I. viscosa. This sp. has not been collected wild since that time, although it is cultivated in N.Z. usually under the name I. gerardiana.. A small shrub; twigs and lvs with medifixed appressed hairs; lvs imparipinnate with 4-10, opposite pairs of entire, obtuse, mucronate leaflets each 4-10 mm long. Fls rosy mauve, in short axillary racemes. Calyx slightly bilabiate; calyx teeth subequal. Pod ± straight, subcylindric, many-seeded. I. decora Lindley is commonly cultivated. It is a rhizomatous subshrub and is almost naturalised in some areas. (N. and W. Asia, 1871).
