Tillaea acutifolia Kirk
Type: W, Hurunuiorangi, May 17, 1877, T. Kirk.
Small matted prostrate delicate herb with filiform stems and branches up to 3 cm. long; internodes up to c. 1 cm. long. Lvs 1·5-2-(2.5) mm. long, thin, linear, acute to apiculate (sts long-apiculate). Fls ± 1·5 mm. diam., sessile or subsessile. Calyx deeply divided, lobes linear-lanceolate, us. acuminate. Petals < sepals or calyx lobes, very narrow-ovate, acute to subacute. Scales 4, minute. Carpels turgid, ovoid; style recurved. Seeds 2-(4?).
DIST.: Known only from specimens collected by Kirk at "Hurunuiorangi (flowers not seen)" in N., and "Winton Forest, Southland".
