Myosotis petiolata Hook.f.

M. petiolata Hook. f., Fl. N.Z.  1:   202  (1853)

Rosettes often elongated; lamina broad; hairs short, straight, stiff, appressed, usually widely spaced on both surfaces. Lateral branches often many, ascending; internodes = or > lvs. Cymes ebracteate, usually simple, many-flowered; internodes > calyx at fruiting; pedicels 5-8 mm long. Calyx lobed almost to base; lobes very narrow. Corolla white, c. 6-15 mm diam.; filaments long; anthers < 1 mm long.

N.: west coast ( var. pansa L. Moore), Bay of Plenty ( var. pottsiana L. Moore), East Cape southwards ( var. petiolata); S.: N.W. Nelson ( var. petiolata).

Endemic.

River banks, cliffs, forests and scrub.
