Stems prostrate, laxly branched, rooting; branchlets ascending; forming lax patches up to 3 dm. diam. Lvs laxly imbricate to rather distant, membr., pale green, 3-5 × < 1 mm., nearly glab., often with a small tuft of hairs near dorsal tip, narrowly ovate- to linear-oblong, gradually narrowed to obtuse or subacute apex; 3-nerved, lateral nerves often obscure, sts absent. Capitula up to ± 9 mm. diam. Inner phyll. ± 5 mm. long, narrowly ovate-elliptic to linear-oblong, margins hyaline, narrowed to obtuse white or yellowish radiate tips. Florets 30-50, c. 5 mm. long, narrow-funnelform, < half ♀. Achenes up to 1 mm. long, narrow-oblong, puberulous to nearly glab.; pappus-hairs up to 5 mm. long, slender, not thickened at tips; papillae claviform.
DIST.: N., S., St. Lowland to montane grassland, herbfield and open places from lat. 39° southwards.
